CM Pushkar Singh Dhami Approves ₹1200 Crore for Kumbh 2027 Infrastructure and Uttarakhand District Development

Haridwar: Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami has approved a major financial boost of ₹1,200 crore to fast-track preparations for Kumbh Mela 2027 and implement district development plans across the state. This dual initiative aims to enhance infrastructure in Haridwar while promoting balanced growth in all districts of Uttarakhand.

₹282 Crore Approved for Kumbh Infrastructure Development

To ensure a grand and seamless events of Kumbh 2027 in Haridwar, the Chief Minister has sanctioned ₹282.29 crore for 28 major infrastructure projects.

These projects will focus on improving:

  • Roads and connectivity
  • Ghats and riverfront facilities
  • Electricity supply
  • Drinking water systems
  • Other essential public amenities

The goal is to provide a smooth and comfortable experience for millions of devotees expected from across India and abroad.

₹1018 Crore Allocated for District-Wise Development

Alongside Kumbh preparations, the state government has approved ₹1018.21 crore under the district plan structure for the financial year 2026–27.

This district-wise allocation is aimed at accelerating ongoing development projects across all regions of the state, ensuring that funds directly reach local administrations for faster implementation.

Focus on Balanced Growth Across Hill and Plain Regions

Balanced development has long been a challenge in Uttarakhand, especially between mountainous and plain areas. The new allocation strategy ensures that each district receives funds based on its specific needs.

This move is expected to:

  • Reduce regional disparities
  • Improve infrastructure in remote hill districts
  • Strengthen local economies

CM Directs Timely and Quality Implementation

CM Dhami has issued strict instructions to officials to ensure that all welfare and development schemes are executed within deadlines and with high quality standards.

He emphasized that fund allocation alone is not enough—the real success lies in delivering tangible benefits to the public on the ground.

Dual Push: Kumbh Preparations and Statewide Development

The ₹1200 crore approval serves a dual purpose:

  • Accelerating preparations for Kumbh Mela 2027
  • Boosting overall and inclusive development across Uttarakhand

With this strategic investment, the state government aims to enhance religious tourism while ensuring long-term infrastructure and economic growth.
