Ahmedabad: In a significant development, the Gujarat chapter of the IPS Association has raised concerns over what it described as a growing trend of “frivolous and baseless allegations” being levelled against Indian Police Service (IPS) officers across media and social media platforms. The issue was discussed in detail during a meeting held on Wednesday, attended by officers from Ahmedabad and Gandhinagar, while others joined via videoconferencing.
Concerns Over Impact on Investigations and Public Trust
During the meeting, members expressed serious concern about claims made by what they termed “interested individuals,” noting that such allegations were often circulated without proper verification. According to officials, the unchecked spread of such information not only affects the professional reputation of officers but may also interfere with ongoing investigations.
