Gandhinagar: Gujarat has achieved a milestone by certifying a record 1,00,135 micro, small, and medium enterprises (MSMEs), Deputy Chief Minister Harsh Sanghavi announced during the Motion of Thanks on the Governor’s address in the eighth session of the Gujarat Legislative Assembly.
The certification, achieved on February 19, 2026, reflects the state’s sustained focus on industrial growth, entrepreneurship, and enterprise development. Gujarat has also been ranked a “Best Performer” for the fifth consecutive time in the national startup rankings.
Strengthening Employment Generation
Highlighting employment initiatives, Sanghavi stated that the government has introduced a 10-year recruitment calendar to fill more than two lakh government posts between 2024 and 2033.
By December 2025, over 72,128 young people secured jobs through 1,268 recruitment fairs conducted across the state, demonstrating Gujarat’s commitment to job creation alongside MSME growth.
Welfare and Social Security Initiatives
The Deputy Chief Minister outlined several welfare measures:
- Under Pradhan Mantri Garib Kalyan Anna Yojana, 3.18 crore beneficiaries from 75 lakh families receive free food grains.
- One Nation One Ration Card allows beneficiaries to access subsidized food grains nationwide.
