Two officers of Gujarat police have been awarded with out-of-turn promotion. KK Patel and Bhavesh Rozia have been promoted from Deputy SP to SP for their remarkable work and honesty. In the history of Gujarat, only 7 policemen have got out of turn promotion. This move is expected to boost the morale of police officers. Both the officers have worked together in Gujarat ATS.
Mr. Patel, who is currently working as Deputy SP in Gujarat ATS, is going to retire in a month. He joined Gujarat Police in 1993 as PSI (Police Sub Inspector) and with several achievements he got promotion as per rules and reached Deputy SP (Deputy Superintendent of Police). He played an important role in arresting the accused involved in the Ahmedabad blast case, ISIS terrorists, members of ISKP Khorasan Province, Akshardham attack case, Ahmedabad serial blast case.
Whereas Mr. Rojiya joined Gujarat Police in 2004 as PSI (Police Sub Inspector). He is currently serving as ACP in Surat city. He is credited with solving the case of Gandhinagar serial killer and seizing a huge consignment of drugs. Mr. Rojiyia is counted as a hardworking police officer in Gujarat.
Both the officers have been promoted on adhoc basis and their promotion would not make any difference in the seniority of other officers.
