Gandhinagar (Gujarat): A high-level Gujarat government delegation, led by Deputy Chief Minister and Industries Minister Harsh Sanghavi, will participate in the World Economic Forum (WEF) Annual Meeting 2026 in Davos, Switzerland, from January 19 to 23. The delegation aims to engage with global business leaders, investors, and policymakers to position Gujarat as a key industrial and investment destination while presenting the state’s roadmap for “Developed Gujarat @2047.”
According to an official release, Sanghavi will participate in 58 high-level one-to-one meetings with top industrialists and leaders from around the world. The discussions are expected to focus on attracting investments in sectors such as advanced manufacturing, textiles, semiconductors, pharmaceuticals, renewable energy, food processing, chemicals, shipping-logistics, and aerospace.
Boosting Industrial Development and Employment
The visit underscores the state government’s objective to strengthen Gujarat’s industrial ecosystem and create large-scale employment opportunities, especially for youth. Sanghavi will highlight Gujarat’s successful development model and showcase the state as a hub for innovation, industrial growth, and global collaboration.
The delegation will meet heads of global corporations including AP Moller Maersk, Engie, EDF, Johnson Controls, Sumitomo Group, Linde, SEALSQ, and Tillman Global, with a focus on bringing new technology to the state and forging long-term international partnerships.

During the WEF sessions, Sanghavi will also present Gujarat’s vision as a keynote speaker on topics such as:

- Sustainability and Innovation in Governance

GIFT City Delegation and Financial Services Focus
Alongside Sanghavi, top officials from the International Financial Services Centres Authority (IFSCA) will represent GIFT City. The delegation aims to showcase Gujarat’s financial hub as a preferred destination for global firms, facilitating international banking, fund management, fintech, asset leasing, Global Capability Centers (GCCs), and international education.
The GIFT City team will hold strategic discussions with global players in financial services, technology, sustainable finance, and emerging technologies, with an emphasis on collaboration opportunities, global capital inflows, and positioning India as a key participant in global value chains.
Gujarat’s Global Outreach and Investment Strategy
The visit marks a significant step in Gujarat’s efforts to present itself as an investment-friendly and innovation-driven state. By combining industrial development with financial services growth, the state government aims to attract global capital, promote sustainable practices, and accelerate long-term economic development, aligning with the vision of Developed Gujarat @2047.
