Haridwar: Preparations for the upcoming Kumbh Mela 2027 in Haridwar have gained significant momentum after the Central Government approved and released ₹500 crore for infrastructure development and event management. The mega religious gathering is scheduled to be held from January to April 2027 in Haridwar.
The financial assistance is expected to accelerate large-scale development works aimed at ensuring a smooth, safe, and spiritually enriching experience for millions of devotees from India and across the globe.
₹500 Crore Boost for Infrastructure and Facilities
According to the state government, the sanctioned funds will be utilized for:
- Beautification and strengthening of ghats
- Construction and repair of roads and bridges
- Improved traffic management systems
- Enhanced drinking water supply
- Strengthening sanitation and waste management
- Upgraded security arrangements
In addition, special arrangements such as temporary accommodations, expanded parking facilities, medical services, and modern control rooms will be developed to manage the expected surge in pilgrims.
