Chnadigarh: The Haryana Government has approved the promotion of senior IPS officers Alok Mittal and Arshinder Singh Chawla to the prestigious rank of Director General of Police (DGP). Both officers belong to the 1993 batch and were serving as Additional Directors General of Police (ADGP) prior to the elevation. The official promotion order was issued on Tuesday.
Alok Mittal Elevated to DGP Rank
Alok Mittal, a 1993-batch IPS officer, is currently posted as the ADGP, Anti-Corruption Bureau (ACB). Mittal has held several key positions throughout his career and is known for his work in combating corruption and strengthening transparency in police operations. With his promotion, Mittal will now take on responsibilities aligned with the highest police leadership in the state.

AS Chawla Promoted to DGP Rank
Arshinder Singh Chawla, another senior officer from the same batch, has also been promoted to DGP rank. Chawla currently serves as the Director of the Haryana Police Academy, Madhuban (Karnal), where he has played a significant role in modernizing police training and capacity building. His elevation marks recognition of his contributions to police training and administration.

The promotion order released on Tuesday confirms the elevation of both officers, marking an important administrative development in the state’s senior police leadership.
