The Himachal Pradesh government has put a stay on the transfer of IPS officer Mohit Chawla, allowing him to continue as the DIG Crime. The decision was announced through an official order issued on Monday, revoking his transfer with immediate effect.
Previously, Chawla had been assigned to take charge as the Principal of PTC Deroh. However, the government has now decided to cancel his transfer and retain him in his current role. Instead, the additional charge of Principal PTC Deroh has been handed over to IPS officer Soumya Sambasivan.
Soumya, who is presently serving as DIG Central Range Mandi, will now oversee both roles. The unexpected decision reflects administrative reconsideration, though no official reason has been cited for the change. With this move, the government ensures continuity in key law enforcement positions while delegating responsibilities strategically within the force.
