The Himachal Pradesh government has signed an agreement with Spray Engineering Devices Limited to establish a ₹1,400 crore integrated manufacturing facility in Solan district. This facility will produce active pharmaceutical ingredients (API), green hydrogen, and ethanol, generating employment for 1,000 youth.
A Memorandum of Commitment (MoC) was signed in the presence of Chief Minister Thakur Sukhvinder Singh Sukhu between Director of Industries Yunus and Spray Engineering Devices MD Vivek Verma. The chief minister emphasized that the state is taking major strides in green energy and aims to become a pioneer in the sector. He instructed the company to complete the project within a year.
Additionally, the government is setting up a 1 MW green hydrogen plant in Nalagarh in collaboration with Oil India Limited. The new facility will require 30 MW of green hydrogen initially, with future needs expected to rise to 50 MW. Sukhu reiterated his government’s commitment to making Himachal a leading green energy state by March 2026.
