HUDCO, a Navratna PSU, has recently launched the Gift Milk Programme in the Rajnandgaon, Bilaspur, and Mungeli districts of Chhattisgarh under its CSR initiative to combat malnutrition among government school children.
The Union Minister of State for Housing and Urban Affairs, Mr. Tokhan Sahu, inaugurated the program on November 30th at Government School Sendri, Bilaspur, alongside HUDCO CMD Sanjay Kulshrestha, Beltara MLA Sushant Shukla, and other dignitaries.
The program will provide 200ml of fortified flavoured milk daily to 8,000 children in 83 government schools, with a focus on girls’ schools and tribal areas. Implemented by the NDDB Foundation for Nutrition, the initiative aims to enhance children’s health, learning, and development.
Mr. Sahu emphasized the government’s commitment to addressing malnutrition, highlighting milk’s role in physical and cognitive growth. CMD Kulshrestha urged students to benefit from the program, which aligns with national goals for sustainable development.
