Hindustan Urvarak & Rasayan Limited (HURL) is a joint venture company promoted by leading public sector undertakings—Coal India Limited (CIL), NTPC Limited, Indian Oil Corporation Limited (IOCL), Fertilizer Corporation of India Limited (FCIL), and Hindustan Fertilizer Corporation Limited (HFCL). Formed with the objective of reviving India’s defunct fertiliser units and achieving self-sufficiency in urea production, HURL has successfully commissioned three modern greenfield fertiliser plants at Gorakhpur (Uttar Pradesh), Barauni (Bihar), and Sindri (Jharkhand).
