On June 18th, the Union Government appointed Mr. Ashwani Kumar (1992-batch AGMUT cadre IAS officer), presently posted as Delhi Divisional Commissioner and Principal Secretary (Home), as the new Commissioner of the Municipal Corporation of Delhi (MCD).
Officer Kumar succeeds Mr. Gyanesh Bharti (1998-batch AGMUT cadre IAS officer), who was relieved for his central deputation and appointed as Additional Secretary in the Ministry of Women and Child Development. On March 13th, Officer Bharati was made eligible for his central deputation following an order from the DoPT.
