Leh: In a significant interaction highlighting the focus on good governance and public welfare in Ladakh, SSP Leh Ms Shruti Arora, 2018 batch IPS officer, along with Mr Mukul Benewal, 2022 batch IAS, Sub-Divisional Magistrate of Nubra, and Mr Raishab Shukla, an IPS officer of 2023 batch, paid a courtesy call on the Hon’ble Lieutenant Governor of Ladakh, Mr Kavinder Gupta, at the LG Secretariat in Leh.

Key Administrative and Security Updates Discussed

During the meeting, the officers briefed the Lt Governor on a wide range of administrative and law-and-order developments in the Leh district. The discussions emphasized:

  • Strengthening community safety and policing efforts
  • Enhancing public service delivery mechanisms
  • Improving inter-departmental coordination, particularly in remote and sensitive regions such as Nubra

The officers also shared insights into ongoing field initiatives and reforms aimed at building trust and engagement between the administration and the people.

Lt Governor Praises Officers for Commitment and Grassroots Engagement

Appreciating the dedication of the officers, Lt Governor Kavinder Gupta lauded their proactive approach in ensuring peace, governance efficiency, and closer connect with local communities. He particularly emphasized the importance of continued presence and responsiveness in far-flung and strategically important areas of Ladakh.

The LG urged the officers to carry forward their work with professionalism, integrity, and a people-centric vision, highlighting that such efforts are crucial for addressing region-specific challenges and promoting inclusive development in the Union Territory.

Collaborative Governance in Focus

The meeting reflects the UT Administration’s growing focus on field-level coordination between civil and police officials, aiming to deliver better services, ensure public safety, and address local issues through collaborative governance.

The presence of a young IPS officer like Raishab Shukla (2023 batch) also underscores the energy and commitment of a new generation of officers posted in strategically significant regions like Ladakh.
