IAS Kranthi Kumar Pati Appointed Deputy Director at LBSNAA; DoPT Clears Four-Year Central Posting

Mussoorie/New Delhi: In a significant central deputation move, Kranthi Kumar Pati, a 2015-batch IAS officer of the Tamil Nadu cadre, has been appointed as Deputy Director at Lal Bahadur Shastri National Academy of Administration (LBSNAA), Mussoorie for a period of four years.

The appointment, approved by the Department of Personnel and Training under the Central Staffing Scheme, places him at the Deputy Secretary level in one of India’s most important civil services training institutions.

Four-Year Appointment Under Central Staffing Scheme

According to the official order issued by DoPT on March 18, 2026, the competent authority has approved Kranthi Kumar Pati’s appointment for four years from the date of assumption of charge, or until further orders, whichever is earlier.

He will serve as Deputy Director at LBSNAA, the premier academy responsible for training officers of the IAS and other All India and Central Services.

Currently Serving as MD, Tamil Nadu Skill Development Corporation

Before this appointment, Kranthi Kumar Pati was serving as Managing Director of the Tamil Nadu Skill Development Corporation (TNSDC) in his parent cadre.

In this role, he has been overseeing skilling initiatives aimed at improving employability and workforce readiness across Tamil Nadu.

Officer Profile: Chartered Accountant Turned IAS Officer

Born on June 14, 1990, Kranthi Kumar Pati comes from Maharashtra and has an academic background marked by high national rankings.

He is a qualified Chartered Accountant from the Institute of Chartered Accountants of India.

His academic achievements include:

• All India Rank 35 in CA Final

• All India Rank 18 in CA PCC

• Approximate All India Rank 41 in UPSC Civil Services Examination 2014

Private Sector Experience Before Joining IAS

Before entering the civil services, he worked in leading multinational consulting firms:

• Ernst & Young as Executive (2011–2012)

• KPMG in Transaction Services (2012–2013)

This private-sector finance exposure added a strong analytical dimension to his later administrative work.

Administrative Career in Tamil Nadu

Since joining the IAS in 2015, he has held several important assignments in Tamil Nadu.

District Collector, Coimbatore

He served as District Collector of Coimbatore from 2023 to 2025.

During this period, he gained recognition for:

• Public grievance redressal initiatives

• Welfare delivery mechanisms

• Administrative responsiveness

• Community outreach programmes

Commissioner, Tiruppur City Municipal Corporation

He served as Commissioner of Tiruppur City Municipal Corporation from June 2021 to February 2023.

Executive Officer, Palani Temple

He also served as Executive Officer of Arulmigu Dhandayuthapani Swamy Temple between October 2020 and June 2021.

• Joint Commissioner, Commercial Tax and GST (Erode)

The repatriation has been approved on personal grounds with the provision of extended cooling off.
