The Ministry of Home Affairs has appointed senior IAS officer Manish Kumar Gupta as the new Chief Secretary of Arunachal Pradesh. Mr. Gupta is a 1991-batch AGMUT cadre IAS officer who was last posted in the Delhi government as Additional Chief Secretary. During his stint at the National Capital, IAS Gupta held charge of departments like Land and Building, Revenue, Home, Industries, Labour, DUSIB, Urban Development and Shahjahanabad Redevelopment Corporation.
Mr. Gupta replaced Mr. Dharmendra (1989-batch IAS officer) as the new CS. Officer Dharmendra has been made the new Chief Secretary of Delhi, and it was speculated that Manish Kumar Gupta would be assigned the charge of Arunachal CS. However, the entry of IAS officer Sajjan Singh Yadav’s (1996 batch) name as a contender made things interesting, Ultimately, the MHA assigned the post to Manish Kumar Gupta
