New Delhi: In a significant administrative development, the Department of Personnel and Training (DoPT) has issued orders for the appointment of two senior officers to prominent positions.
Mannan Akhtar, an IAS officer of the 2011 batch (UP cadre), has been appointed as the Commissioner (LD) in the Delhi Development Authority (DDA) under the Ministry of Housing and Urban Affairs. Akhtar will serve in this capacity at the Director level for a tenure of five years, or until further orders, from the date he assumes charge of the position.
In another key appointment, Shilpi Chopda, an IRS-IT officer of the 2015 batch, has been selected for central deputation as the Deputy Secretary in the Ministry of Defence, Delhi. Chopda will serve for a period of four years from the date of taking over the charge of the post, as per the orders issued by DoPT.
These appointments come as part of the ongoing efforts to strengthen governance and ensure effective administration within key government departments.
