2009 batch IAS officer of Bihar cadre, Saket Kumar has been appointed as Private Secretary to the Home Minister Amit Shah in the Ministry of Home Affairs at the level of Deputy Secretary for a period up to 29.07.2023.
Last year, he was chosen as the private secretary of Manoj Sinha, who is currently the 2nd & current Lieutenant Governor of Jammu and Kashmir. Manoj Sinha was then the Minister of Communications (Independent Charge) and Minister of State (MoS), Railways.
IAS officer Saket Kumar is originally from Madhubani in Bihar. His father is a college professor. Saket did his schooling from Don Bosco School in Madhubani and Model School in Delhi.
He has done his graduation and post-graduation from Hindu College. Saket cleared the prestigious UPSC exam in his second attempt. He secured 13th rank in the UPSC exam. His first appointment was as DDC in Samastipur and SDO in Vaishali, Bihar. He has been the District Magistrate of Khagaria and Banka districts.
