IAS Andra Vamsi has recently been appointed Private Secretary to the Union Minister of State for Home Affairs, Mr. Bandi Sanjay Kumar, for a five-year term at the Deputy Secretary level. Mr. Vamsi, a 2011-batch Uttar Pradesh cadre IAS officer, shall assume the charge of the post on a co-terminus basis or till he ceases to function as Private Secretary to the Minister or until further orders, whichever transpires earlier. Officer Vamsi had earlier served as the District Magistrate of Jhansi.
