IAS Ankita Chakravarty Appointed as Deputy Secy in Ministry of Home Affairs

On Friday, Ankita Chakravarty (IAS) was named Deputy Secretary in the Ministry of Home Affairs. Ms. Chakravarty has been appointed to the post under the Central Staffing Scheme (CSS) for a period of four years from the date of taking over charge of the post or until further orders, whichever event occurs first, according to an order issued by the Department of Personnel & Training (DoPT).

The Ministry of Home Affairs proposed her name for the Central Deputation.

Ankita is an AGMUT cadre Indian Administrative Service (IAS) officer from the 2013 batch. She is currently the Secretary of the New Delhi Municipal Council (NDMC) and the CEO of NDMC Smart City Limited. “She may kindly be relieved of her duties immediately with instructions to take up her new assignment in the Ministry of Home Affairs,” the final paragraph of the directive reads.
