IAS officer Dr. Ajay Shankar Pandey who is currently serving as commissioner of Jhansi Division has come in the race to become the commission chairman. IAS officer Ajay Shankar Pandey of 2005 batch PCS cadre became the commissioner of Jhansi division on June 4, 2021.
IAS Ajay Shankar Pandey had gone to Rajasthan on 10 February 2015 on Inter State Deputation. But he returned to UP only after 2 years on 15 February 2019. As soon as he returned from Rajasthan to UP, became the District Magistrate of Muzaffarnagar, in his first posting. After becoming the DM of Muzaffarnagar, he took over the command of Ghaziabad Collector for 2 years from 12 July 2019 to 4 June 2021.
