The Union Ministry for Home Affairs has recently appointed IAS Keshav Chandra as the new Chairman of the New Delhi Municipal Corporation (NDMC). Officer Chandra, a 1995-batch IAS Officer, is presently posted as Chief Secretary to the Government of Andaman & Nicobar Island. He will succeed IAS Amit Yadav (1991 batch), who is now Union Secretary, Department of Social Justice & Empowerment.
As of now, Mr. Ashwani Kumar (1992-batch AGMUT cadre IAS officer), the incumbent MCD Commissioner, holds the additional charge of NDMC.
