IAS Sriram Taranikanti Took Over The Charge of Director, LBSNAA As Srinivas R. Katikithala Transferred to Ministry of Minority Affairs

He replaced Mr Srinivas R. Katikithala, an IAS officer of 1989 batch belonging to Gujarat cadre. Mr Srinivas has been transferred and appointed as secretary, Ministry of Minority Affairs in the Government of India.

The 1992 batch IAS officer of Tripua cadre , Mr Sriram Taranikanti took the charge of Director of Lal Bahadur Shastri National Academy Of Administration (LBSNAA), India’s premier institution dedicated to training Officers of the country’s higher civil services. Mr Taranikanti will serve in the rank and pay of a Union Secretary.

He replaced Mr Srinivas R. Katikithala, an IAS officer of 1989 batch belonging to Gujarat cadre. Mr Srinivas has been transferred and appointed as secretary, Ministry of Minority Affairs in the Government of India. Srinivas is on central deputation from May 2017.

Mr Taranikanti is currently serving as an additional secretary and financial adviser in the Ministry of Home Affairs (MHA). He is responsible for overseeing the budget, accounts, audit, procurement and financial management of MHA and its subordinate offices.

The order was issued by the prime minister-led Appointments Committee of the Cabinet (ACC).

known for his integrity, professionalism and leadership skills, Mr Taranikanti has held various positions in the state and central governments, such as District Magistrate, Secretary of Education, Principal Secretary of Revenue and Chief Secretary of Tripura.

He has also served as the Joint Secretary of the Ministry of Defence and the Director General of the National Institute of Disaster Management.

He has been instrumental in implementing several reforms and initiatives in the areas of governance, administration, education, disaster management and security. He has also contributed to various publications and journals on public policy and administration.
