Amidst a recent development, the government of Jammu and Kashmir UT appointed a retired IAS officer, Mr. Rajesh Sharma, as a member of the Jammu & Kashmir Water Resources Regulatory Authority (JKWRRA). Mr. Sharma’s appointment was announced by the incumbent Chief Secretary (J&K UT), Mr. Atal Dulloo (1989 batch IAS).
During the felicitation of IAS (Retd) Rajesh Sharma, Chief Secretary Mr. Dulloo used the opportunity to prompt the Irrigation and Flood Control Department to expand its command area under different irrigation schemes. Mr. Dulloo expressed his high hopes on how he expected Mr. Sharma to use his profound expertise to accelerate the proficiency in the working of the JKWRRA.
Mr. Rajesh Sharma’s illustrious career in the bureaucracy is marked by his successful tenures while serving in numerous key administrative positions in the J&K government. In his career, he had served as the regional director (Survey & Land Records) in Udhampur, the Director of the Handloom Development Department, a Secretary in the Public Service Commission (J&K), and also as the Custodian General of J&K before his retirement. It is inspiring to witness how his journey within the bureaucracy extends beyond his superannuation, as the competent authorities decided to empower his administrative prowess even after he hung the gloves.
