Senior IAS officer Rajesh Verma on Monday (31.01.2022) was given additional charge of the post of Secretary, Department of Financial Services. According to an order issued by the Department of Personnel and Training (DoPT), the central government has approved assignment of additional charge of the post to Mr. Verma till the appointment of a regular incumbent or until further orders, whichever is earlier. Presently, he is Secretary, Ministry of Corporate Affairs. The decision came after the current Financial Services Secretary Debasish Panda did not get an extension of his tenure. Panda’s term was due to end on January 31, just a day ahead of the presentation of the Union Budget.
