1986 batch senior IAS officer of Bihar cadre, Ravi Mittal has been appointed as the chairman of Insolvency and Bankruptcy Board of India (IBBI). According to a notification circulated by the Ministry of Corporate Affairs on February 02, Mittal has been appointed to the post of Chairman for a period of five years or till he is 65 years of age-whichever is earlier.
The appointment comes little over four months after the post fell vacant following the retirement of M S Sahoo who completed his five-year term on September 30, 2021.
Ravi Mittal is currently serving as Secretary, Department of Sports with additional charge of Secretary, Ministry of Skill Development & Entrepreneurship.
