A day before Dr. Renu Sharma’s retirement (1988-batch AGMUT cadre IAS officer), the incumbent Chief Secretary of Mizoram, an interim arrangement was established for the role of Chief Secretary. Mr. H Lalengmawia (2005-batch IAS officer), last posted as the Commissioner and Secretary to the Government of Mizoram, has been assigned to temporarily take on the duties of Chief Secretary.
Some insiders suggest that Officer Lalengmawia, being a local, was viewed as a suitable choice for this temporary position. It is expected that the Centre shall relieve Mr. Khilli Ram Meena (1993-batch IAS officer), who is anticipated to be appointed as Dr. Renu Sharma’s successor.
Currently, IAS Meena serves as the Additional Secretary in the Ministry of Minority Affairs in the Government of India.
