Bhopal: The Mohan Yadav led Madhya Pradesh government has announced a significant reshuffle of senior IAS officers aimed at optimizing governance and enhancing cross-departmental efficiency. The latest postings, issued by the General Administration Department, involve several key bureaucrats assuming new responsibilities.
Key Transfers and Appointments
KC Gupta (IAS 1992), formerly Additional Chief Secretary to the Governor at Raj Bhavan, has been appointed as Additional Chief Secretary for the Department of Cottage and Rural Industries.
Dr. Navneet Mohan Kothari (IAS 2001), moving from Principal Secretary of Environment, takes over the charge at Raj Bhavan.
Ashok Barnwal (IAS 1991) assumes additional charge of the Environment Department alongside his existing roles as Additional Chief Secretary of the Forest Department and Agriculture Production Commissioner.
Chandramouli Shukla (IAS 2011) takes on additional charge as Additional Secretary to the Chief Minister, while retaining his roles as Managing Director of MP Industrial Development Corporation and MP State Industrial Development Corporation, and Commissioner of Aviation.
Deepak Arya (IAS 2012), currently CEO of MP Rural Road Development Authority, adds the role of Executive Director at Environment Planning and Coordination Organisation (EPCO).
Other Key Changes
Uma Maheshwari R. (IAS 2013) will be relieved from her additional charge at EPCO but continues as Secretary of Indian Systems of Medicine and Homeopathy.
The transfer of KC Gupta to Cottage and Rural Industries allows Amit Rathore (IAS 1996) to focus solely on Commercial Tax, being relieved from his additional charge in Cottage and Rural Industries.

A statement from the General Administration Department said, “The transfers reflect a strategic reallocation of leadership resources and underscore the government’s emphasis on cross-functional expertise.”
The reshuffle is expected to strengthen leadership in key sectors and improve the overall efficiency of government functioning.
