Nashik, Maharashtra: In a firm administrative move, 2022 batch IAS officer Omkar Pawar, Chief Executive Officer of Nashik Zilla Parishad, conducted a surprise inspection of two Primary Health Centres (PHCs) at Navi Bej and Otur in Kalvan taluka on Sunday. The inspection revealed four healthcare staff members absent from duty, prompting immediate disciplinary action.
At the Navi Bej PHC, a laboratory scientific officer and a health assistant were found missing, while at the Otur PHC, a laboratory scientific officer and an attendant were absent.
Show Cause Notices Issued
Taking serious note of the absenteeism, Omkar Pawar directed the district health officer to issue ‘show cause’ notices to all four employees. He also warned of strict disciplinary action if the explanations submitted by the staff are unsatisfactory.
“If patient service in rural areas is compromised, strict action will follow,” Pawar emphasized.
Focus on Cleanliness, Stock, and Patient Care
During his visit, Pawar interacted with patients and assessed the cleanliness, medicine stock, and diagnostic services at both health centres. He also provided suggestions for improvement in service delivery, particularly stressing the importance of rural health systems functioning at full capacity.
Clear Warning to Healthcare Workers
The CEO reiterated the administration’s commitment to ensuring rural health services remain uninterrupted and urged healthcare staff to perform their duties diligently. Any future negligence, he warned, would be met with firm administrative action.
Promoted as CEO of Zilla Parishad, Nashik
In August 2025, Mr Pawar, a promising young IAS officer who previously served as Assistant Collector of the Igatpuri Sub-Division in Nashik, has been promoted to the key position of Chief Executive Officer (CEO), Zilla Parishad, Nashik. This significant responsibility marks a major milestone in his administrative career, entrusting him with leadership at the district level and oversight of rural development and governance initiatives.
