Chandigarh: In a late evening administrative reshuffle, the Bhagwant Mann-led Punjab Government has ordered the transfer and posting of two senior IAS officers, with immediate effect. The transfer involves a role swap between Sandeep Hans (IAS, 2010 batch) and Jaspreet Singh (IAS, 2014 batch), both holding key positions in the departments of Food Processing and Investment Promotion.
Sandeep Hans Appointed Special Secretary in Food Processing
Sandeep Hans, who has been serving as Managing Director of Punjab INFOTECH and Additional CEO, Punjab Bureau of Investment Promotion, has now been posted as Special Secretary, Food Processing Department. He will also take over as Mission Director, Food Processing, replacing Jaspreet Singh.
Hans, a 2010-batch IAS officer, is known for his prior contributions in administrative roles related to governance and industry promotion.
Jaspreet Singh Takes Over as MD of Punjab INFOTECH
On the other hand, Jaspreet Singh, a 2014-batch IAS officer, who was holding the post of Special Secretary and Mission Director, Food Processing, has now been placed at the disposal of the Department of Industries and Commerce. He will take charge as the Managing Director, Punjab INFOTECH, and Additional CEO, Punjab Bureau of Investment Promotion, effectively replacing Sandeep Hans.
Notably, Jaspreet Singh will continue to function as Nodal Officer for Post-Disaster Needs Assessment (PDNA), ensuring continuity in disaster preparedness and recovery assessment.
Immediate Implementation Ordered
The orders issued late in the evening on October 6, 2025, state that both officers are directed to join their new assignments immediately.
This reshuffle is part of the Punjab Government’s ongoing efforts to enhance administrative efficiency and align experienced officers with departments critical to investment promotion and food processing sector development in the state.
