Honorable President Mr. Ramnath Kovind conferred the Padma Bhushan Award on veteran Indian Administrative service officer Mr Nripendra Misra at Rashtrapati Bhawan in Padma Awards ceremony 2021. In his entire administrative Career of over 5 decades he has served the nation with great excellency and dedication and served on many key positions.
Mr Nripendra who was born on 8 March 1945, is 1967 Batch IAS Officer from Uttar Pradesh cadre. In 2014 when PM Mr. Modi came into power, Mr Nripendra was appointed as the 12th Principal Secretary to the Prime Minister of India and he served on the post from May 28 2014 to August 30 2019. He has worked as Chairperson of Telecom Regulatory Authority of India from March 22 2006 to March 22 2009. He has also been the Telecom Secretary of India from the year 2004 to 2005 and has served as Additional Secretary looking after WTO affairs in the Ministry of Commerce and as Joint Secretary in dept. of Economic Affairs of the Ministry of Finance in the Indian Government. Recently he was appointed as the chairman of Shree Ram Janmbhoomi Teerth Kshetra.
Mr Nripendra was graduated from Allahabad University and did his MPA (Master of Public Administration) from John F Kennedy school of government, Harvard University USA. He has also been honored by the Japan Government with its highest civilian award ; Order of Rising Sun.
