Thiruvananthapuram: The Government of Kerala has appointed Mir Mohammed Ali, IAS (KL:2011), as the Chairman and Managing Director (CMD) of the Kerala State Electricity Board Ltd. (KSEB Ltd.) on a deputation basis. His appointment was formalized through Government Order No. 99/2025/POWER, dated May 7, 2025, and issued by the General Administration Department.
Ali’s services have now been placed under the Power Department, entrusting him with the responsibility of leading one of the most critical public utilities in the state.

Leadership Role in Power Generation, Transmission, and Distribution
As CMD, Sri. Mir Mohammed Ali will be overseeing the full spectrum of power-related functions in Kerala, including:

- Transmission infrastructure
- Distribution to consumers and industries
KSEB Ltd. plays a pivotal role in ensuring uninterrupted power supply, and the new CMD is expected to lead efforts aimed at modernization, improved service delivery, and energy sustainability.

Prior to this new assignment, Sri. Ali served as Managing Director of the Kerala State Industrial Development Corporation Ltd. (KSIDC). During his tenure at KSIDC, he was instrumental in driving several key infrastructure and industrial investment projects, strengthening Kerala’s industrial ecosystem.
