Naval Kishore Ram (IAS:2008:MH), presently serving as Joint Secretary in the Department of Revenue, has been prematurely repatriated to his parent cadre Maharashtra, nearly three months ahead of schedule.
According to an official order issued by the Department of Personnel and Training (DoPT), the repatriation was approved on personal grounds upon the proposal of the Department of Revenue. Ram was originally appointed to the post in August 2024, with a tenure slated to end on August 10, 2025, extendable by two years subject to cadre clearance.

Prior to his current assignment, Ram had served in the Prime Minister’s Office beginning August 2020, first as Deputy Secretary and later as Director from January 1, 2022. He was empanelled for Joint Secretary-level roles by the Appointments Committee of the Cabinet (ACC) in June 2024.
His repatriation marks the end of an influential central deputation spanning key assignments in the PMO and the Department of Revenue.
