IAS Officer Rinkoo Singh Rahee Still Awaiting Posting After Withdrawing Resignation, Raises Concern Over ‘Salary Without Work’

IAS officer Rinkoo Singh Rahee remains without a posting weeks after withdrawing his resignation, expressing discomfort over drawing salary without work.

IAS officer Rinkoo Singh Rahee continues to draw attention as his administrative situation remains unresolved. Despite withdrawing his resignation on April 20, 2026, the 2023-batch Uttar Pradesh cadre officer is yet to receive a formal posting even after nearly two weeks.

This delay has once again brought his concerns into the public domain. Speaking to the media, Rahee expressed unease over his current status, stating that receiving a salary without being assigned meaningful work does not sit well with him.

Resignation, Attachment, and Lack of Work

Rahee had originally submitted his resignation on March 26, 2026, citing prolonged inactivity and lack of responsibility. He highlighted that despite being formally attached to a department, he had not been given any substantial role for months.

Although he later reconsidered and withdrew his resignation, his core concern remains unchanged — the absence of an opportunity to serve.

Currently, he is attached to the Revenue Council. While he has reportedly completed some departmental assignments given recently, a full-fledged posting is still pending.

Key Points:

  • Resignation submitted: March 26, 2026
  • Resignation withdrawn: April 20, 2026
  • No posting for over 13 days after withdrawal
  • Attached to Revenue Council without defined role
  • Received salary despite limited work for nearly 9 months

“I Just Want Work,” Says Officer

Rahee has made it clear that his priority is not position or location, but meaningful work. He emphasised that he is willing to serve anywhere the government deems fit.

He also pointed out that while he received several calls after submitting his resignation, there has been little communication from authorities since he withdrew it. The lack of clarity regarding his administrative status has added to his frustration.

Past Controversies and Career Background

Rinkoo Singh Rahee is not new to challenges. Earlier in his career, he had exposed a significant scam in 2009, following which he survived a serious attack in which he was shot multiple times.

More recently, he came into the spotlight after a video surfaced showing him performing sit-ups during a lawyers’ protest in Shahjahanpur. The incident reportedly led to his attachment without further posting.
