A senior officer of the Rajasthan Police, Kishan Sahay Meena, has been booked in a rape case following a complaint by a woman in Jaipur. The First Information Report (FIR) was registered on April 29 at Malviya Nagar Police Station based on a letter sent by the complainant through post.

According to police sources, the woman has accused the officer of establishing a physical relationship with her under the false promise of marriage. The case is currently under investigation by Additional Deputy Commissioner of Police (DCP) Jigyasa of the Jaipur Commissionerate.

Allegations of Assault, Threats, and Exploitation

The complainant, reportedly around 53 years old, has made multiple serious allegations, including:

  • Repeated sexual exploitation on the pretext of marriage
  • Physical assault when she questioned his intentions
  • Threats to her life if she disclosed the matter

She claims that after initially maintaining close contact, the officer gradually distanced himself. When she pressed for marriage, the situation allegedly turned abusive.

Following these accusations, police registered a case under relevant sections related to rape, assault, and criminal intimidation.

Officer Denies Charges, Calls It a Conspiracy

Kishan Sahay Meena has denied all allegations, stating that he is being falsely implicated. He has claimed that the case is part of a larger conspiracy aimed at defaming him due to his outspoken views on promoting scientific temper and opposing superstition.

In his defence, Meena said:

  • The complainant had been in contact with him via messages
  • The communication records, according to him, indicate an attempt to blackmail
  • His advocacy against blind faith has made him a target

Background of the Officer

Kishan Sahay Meena hails from Rajasthan’s Alwar district and was inducted into the Indian Police Service (IPS) in 2013 after serving in the state police service.

Key highlights of his career:

  • Served as Superintendent of Police (SP) in Tonk
  • Held positions in Government Railway Police (GRP) and Crime Branch
  • Currently posted as Inspector General (IG) in the Human Rights Cell at Police Headquarters

Previous Controversies

The officer has been in the spotlight earlier as well:

  • Election Duty Incident (2024):
He was suspended after leaving election duty in Jharkhand without authorisation during the Lok Sabha elections.
  • Social Media Statements:
Meena has sparked debates by openly criticising religious beliefs and promoting scientific thinking. His posts questioning the existence of God and religious constructs drew both support and backlash.

Investigation Underway

Authorities have initiated a formal investigation into the allegations. Officials have stated that due process will be followed, and all evidence, including communication records and statements, will be examined carefully.

The case has drawn attention due to the seniority of the officer involved and the nature of the allegations, raising questions about accountability and conduct within law enforcement ranks.
