The Appointments Committee of the Cabinet (ACC) has approved the appointment of Mr. Rajeev Singh Thakur, a 1995-batch Rajasthan cadre IAS officer, as Adviser to NITI Aayog. His appointment comes with the rank and pay of Additional Secretary through a temporary upgradation of the post.
According to an order issued by the Department of Personnel & Training (DoPT) on Friday, Mr. Thakur’s central deputation tenure has been extended for one year beyond December 3, 2024, or until further orders, whichever is earlier.
With extensive administrative experience, Mr. Thakur is expected to play a key role in policy formulation and strategic initiatives at NITI Aayog, the Government of India’s premier think tank. The institution is instrumental in driving economic growth, governance reforms, and developmental policies across the country.
