Chandigarh: The Punjab Government has officially designated Ravi Bhagat, an Indian Administrative Service (IAS) officer of the 2006 batch, as Principal Secretary to the Chief Minister of Punjab.
In an official order issued today, it was confirmed that Ravi Bhagat, who was previously serving as Special Principal Secretary to the Chief Minister, has now been promoted to the position of Principal Secretary. In addition to this role, he will continue to hold the additional charge of Administrative Secretary, Public Works Department (Buildings & Roads), and will also serve as Secretary of the Punjab Rural Development Board.
The post of Principal Secretary to the Chief Minister had been vacant following the superannuation of IAS officer VK Singh. Ravi Bhagat had temporarily assumed the responsibilities of Principal Secretary following Singh’s retirement and has now been officially designated to the role.
This appointment highlights Bhagat’s continued trusted leadership and extensive administrative experience in serving the Punjab government.
