Rishirendra Kumar, a 2011 batch IAS officer of the Uttar Pradesh cadre, has been officially re-designated as Director in the Ministry of Finance. Mr. Kumar, who is currently serving as the Private Secretary to Pankaj Chaudhary, the Minister of State for Finance, at the Deputy Secretary level, will now assume the Director-level position.
An order issued by the Department of Personnel and Training (DoPT) on January 20, 2025, confirms that the competent authority has approved the proposal for the re-designation. The change will take effect from the date Mr. Kumar assumes charge of the new post and will remain in place until August 11, 2029, or until his tenure as Private Secretary to the Minister concludes, whichever is earlier.
It is significant to note that Mr. Kumar commenced his central deputation on August 12, 2024, marking an important phase in his distinguished civil services career.
