In a significant acknowledgment of innovative governance and dedicated public service, Ms. Vishakha Yadav (2020-batch IAS officer), the District Collector of Kurung Kumey in Arunachal Pradesh, has been conferred with the prestigious Prime Minister’s Award for Excellence in Public Administration for 2024.

She received the award under the “Innovation – District” category for her pioneering initiative, Project DIGIKAKSHA – A Vision for a Vibrant Village on the Indo-China Border. The project was designed to digitally transform remote villages along the Indo-China border, empowering them with technology-driven solutions for education, communication, and self-reliance. The initiative stands out for its focus on sustainable development and national integration in one of India’s most sensitive and isolated regions.
The Secretary of the Department of Administrative Reforms and Public Grievances (DARPG), Mr. V. Srinivas, 1989-batch IAS officer, praised Ms. Yadav’s commitment and lauded her project for setting new standards of innovation at the grassroots level. In a formal letter of appreciation, he highlighted her “valuable contribution with commitment and dedicated efforts.”
The letter of appreciation has been forwarded to the Secretary, Department of Personnel and Training (DoPT), and the Chief Secretary of Arunachal Pradesh for inclusion in Ms. Yadav’s performance appraisal dossier and Executive Record (ER) Sheet, marking a significant milestone in her civil service career.
Ms. Yadav’s recognition serves as an inspiring example of how compassionate leadership and forward-thinking governance can bring about transformative change in the farthest reaches of the nation.
