The Odisha government has appointed Mr. Suresh Pant, a 1990-batch Indian Forest Service (IFS) officer of the Odisha cadre, as the new Principal Chief Conservator of Forests (PCCF) and Head of Forest Force (HoFF). He replaces Mr. Debidutta Biswal, a 1988-batch IFS officer.
A notification issued by Mr. Manoj Kumar Mohanty, Additional Secretary to the Odisha government, confirmed the appointment. “In pursuance of Note-2 of Rule 3(2)(iv) of IFS (Pay) Rule, 2016, Shri Suresh Pant, IFS(RR-1990) is appointed as Principal Chief Conservator of Forests and Head of Forest Force, Odisha in the Apex Scale (Level-17 in the Pay Matrix),” the notification stated.
Prior to this, Mr. Pant was serving as the Managing Director of Odisha Forest Development Corporation (OFDC) Ltd, a position he has held since September 2021.
