Chennai: Indian Bank has successfully migrated its corporate website to the secure ‘.bank.in’ domain, becoming one of the leading public sector banks to adopt the enhanced digital security framework mandated by the Reserve Bank of India (RBI). The new website can now be accessed at https://indianbank.bank.in
Ensuring Safer Digital Banking
The migration was carried out under the guidance of the Institute for Development and Research in Banking Technology (IDRBT), which acts as the exclusive registrar for the ‘.bank.in’ domain. The move reinforces Indian Bank’s commitment to ensuring customer safety and protecting against online fraud in an increasingly digital banking ecosystem.
Exclusive and Secure Domain
The ‘.bank.in’ domain is reserved exclusively for licensed banks in India. It offers stronger safeguards to combat cyber fraud, provides a more reliable framework for digital transactions, and enhances public trust by helping customers easily identify genuine banking websites.
A Growing Trend Among PSBs
Indian Bank’s initiative follows the migration of Punjab National Bank, which became the first public sector bank to shift to the secure ‘.bank.in’ domain. With more banks expected to adopt the framework, the transition marks a significant milestone in strengthening the cybersecurity posture of India’s banking sector.
