Bengaluru: Bharat Electronics Limited (BEL), a Navratna Defence PSU, signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with Centum Electronics Limited (CENTUM) on August 19, 2025. The agreement focuses on advancing indigenous design and production capabilities in critical technology domains for defence applications.
Strengthening Indigenous Capabilities in Critical Domains
The collaboration will target advanced electronic modules, subsystems, and systems in key areas such as Electronic Warfare (EW), radar technologies, and secure military communications. By combining BEL’s expertise in defence electronics with CENTUM’s Electronic System Design and Manufacturing (ESDM) capabilities, the partnership seeks to boost self-reliance in high-end defence technologies.
Leaders Endorse Strategic Partnership
The MoU was formally exchanged between BEL Director (Marketing) Suresh Kumar K V and CENTUM CMD Apparao V Mallavarapu. The ceremony took place at BEL’s Corporate Office in the presence of BEL CMD Manoj Jain and Dr. Vinod Chippalkatti, President of Centum Electronics Limited.
Speaking on the occasion, BEL highlighted that the agreement underscores its commitment to supporting the national mission of Atmanirbhar Bharat in the defence sector. CENTUM emphasized its role in providing cutting-edge solutions to strengthen India’s defence preparedness.
