Bharat Electronics (BEL) Showcases Cutting-Edge Systems to Visiting Nigerian Defence Delegation, Eyes Long-Term Partnership – Details Inside

New Delhi: In a significant move towards strengthening international defence cooperation, a high-level Nigerian defence delegation led by H.E. Dr. Bello Mohammed Matawalle, Hon’ble Minister of State for Defence, visited Bharat Electronics Limited (BEL) facilities in Ghaziabad today.

The visit marks a key step in exploring strategic partnerships between India and Nigeria in the defence sector, with particular interest shown in BEL’s cutting-edge technologies and customized solutions.

High-Level Reception by BEL Leadership

The Nigerian delegation was warmly welcomed by Mr. Suresh Kumar K V, Director (Marketing), along with Ms. Rashmi Kathuria, General Manager (SCCS) & Unit Head, and Mr. Srinivas Rao HP, General Manager (International Marketing), in the presence of senior BEL officials and Strategic Business Unit heads.

Showcasing India’s Defence Manufacturing Prowess

During the visit, BEL presented its diversified product portfolio, tailored to suit Nigerian defence interests. The presentation included a walkthrough of key defence systems, communication equipment, electronic warfare solutions, and surveillance systems.

The delegation also toured BEL’s Central Research Laboratory (CRL) and other major facilities, gaining insight into the R&D capabilities and indigenous innovation that underpin BEL’s offerings.

Mutual Interest in Long-Term Collaboration

The Nigerian representatives expressed keen interest in BEL’s indigenous systems and explored avenues for future long-term collaboration. Discussions revolved around potential joint development, technology transfer, and supply of defence solutions catering to Nigeria’s security and operational needs.

BEL’s state-of-the-art capabilities and indigenous defence products have impressed the Nigerian delegation. This visit opens up new possibilities for strategic defence cooperation between the two nations,” a BEL spokesperson noted.
