Bhopal: Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister Dr. Mohan Yadav chaired a Cabinet meeting today, Tuesday, August 19, 2025. The session, held at the Secretariat at 11 AM, saw discussions on several important proposals related to administrative, economic, and social development. The Cabinet approved multiple significant decisions aimed at the state’s progress.

₹300 Crore Electronic Manufacturing Cluster to Boost Industry and Jobs

The Cabinet approved the creation of an electronic manufacturing cluster over 210 acres on Bairasia Road, Bhopal. This facility will house production units for televisions, refrigerators, computers, and other electronic devices. Infrastructure developments such as roads, water, and power supply will accompany the project to attract investment and generate employment opportunities.

New Prosecution Policy for Government Officials to Ensure Accountability

A major governance reform was passed mandating Cabinet approval before prosecuting government employees or officers involved in corruption, asset discrepancies, or misuse of authority. This step aims to improve transparency and administrative responsibility.

Enhanced Scholarship Support for Scheduled Tribe Students

Scholarship benefits for Scheduled Tribe (ST) students have been extended from 10 to 12 months annually. Additionally, the monthly stipend has been increased to ₹1,700 for girls and ₹1,650 for boys, helping students with competitive exam preparation and hostel expenses.

Geeta Bhawan Scheme to Promote Cultural and Educational Activities

The Cabinet approved the construction of Geeta Bhawans in all urban local bodies across Madhya Pradesh. These centers will act as hubs for religious, social, and cultural programs, fostering community engagement and learning.

Preparation for Prime Minister’s Kisan Sammelan

Discussions took place regarding the upcoming Prime Minister’s Kisan Sammelan, expected to focus on agricultural exports, capital expenditure, and other economic matters, with Prime Minister Narendra Modi likely to participate.

New Ayurvedic Colleges and Wellness Centers to be Established

The government sanctioned ₹70 crore each for five Ayurvedic colleges and wellness centers in the districts of Sagar, Shahdol, Narmadapuram, Morena, and Balaghat. These institutions will promote traditional healthcare and wellness across the state.

Modern Sugar Mill Project Approved for Morena

A ₹54.81 crore project to establish a modern sugar mill in Morena was approved. The Cabinet also sanctioned the payment of ₹54.81 crore in pending dues to sugar mill laborers, ensuring their welfare alongside industrial development.

Mining Conclave to be Held in Katni

The Cabinet reviewed plans for the Mining Conclave scheduled for August 23 in Katni. The event aims to attract national industrialists to discuss investments and growth opportunities in the mining sector.

Surrogacy Maternity Leave Policy Extended to Government Employees

Aligning with central government rules, Madhya Pradesh will now provide surrogacy maternity leave for government employees. This benefit will also extend to adoptive parents, single parents, and differently-abled parents.

Police Recruitment: 22,500 New Posts Sanctioned

In a major boost to the police force, the Cabinet approved the recruitment of 22,500 police personnel over the next three years. To streamline the hiring process, a dedicated Madhya Pradesh Police Recruitment Board will be established from 2026 onwards, while 2025 recruitment will continue under the Staff Selection Board (SSB).
