Bhopal/Ujjain: Chief Minister Dr. Mohan Yadav emphasized the significance of the Bhagavad Gita in instilling life balance, moral values, and practical knowledge during his participation in the International Gita Mahotsav held on 1 December 2025 at Dussehra Maidan, Ujjain. The event witnessed the presence of saints, students, and citizens, all coming together to engage in collective Gita recitation.
Gita as a Guide to Life and Practical Knowledge
Speaking at the event, CM Dr. Yadav said, “The essence of Bhakti Yoga, Gyaan Yoga, and Karma Yoga is found in the Gita. Every school bag should carry the Gita; every child should have access to its teachings. The Gita provides practical knowledge that no other text can. It teaches us that our actions stay with us, and it guides us to harmonize our duties with our soul.”
He highlighted that the state government would inaugurate a Gita Bhavan, further promoting the study and dissemination of the sacred text. Dr. Yadav also noted the role of the 2020 National Education Policy reforms, led by Prime Minister Narendra Modi, in integrating the teachings of the Gita into school curricula and giving importance to the stories and teachings of Lord Krishna.

Unity, Love, and Life Lessons from Lord Krishna
The Chief Minister recalled episodes from Lord Krishna’s life, including his education at Sandipani Ashram, where children from all backgrounds received equal opportunities. He said, “Through Krishna’s teachings, we learn unity and love. Despite the challenges he faced, Lord Krishna demonstrated resilience, courage, and the ability to overcome obstacles, offering lessons in duty and moral responsibility.”
Dr. Yadav also highlighted Krishna’s approach to leadership, emphasizing that he prioritized education over power and upheld the path of duty, righteousness, and moral action even in the face of adversity. He added that Krishna’s actions set an example for humanity, reinforcing the principles of Dharma, human values, and universal welfare, rooted in the Vedic maxim Vasudhaiva Kutumbakam – the world is one family.

Lessons in Duty and Righteousness
The Chief Minister stressed the relevance of Krishna’s life for modern times: “Life teaches us that birth and death are certain. One must always follow the path of Dharma. Through Lord Krishna, the world has seen India’s valor and moral strength. Whenever righteousness declines, divine intervention restores Dharma, ensuring the triumph of good actions and human welfare.”
