New Delhi: In a strategic move to strengthen India’s maritime capabilities, Indian Oil Corporation Ltd. (IOCL) has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with the Indian Navy. The partnership aims to enhance collaboration in training, technology development, and operational solutions, supporting the vision of a self-reliant (Atmanirbhar Bharat) Indian Navy.
The MoU was signed by Rear Admiral Vikas Chawla, Assistant Chief of Materiel (Dockyard & Refits), along with senior officials from IOCL. The initiative highlights IOCL’s commitment to national security and the promotion of indigenous maritime technology.
Focus on Knowledge Exchange and Research
The partnership will enable both organizations to engage in knowledge exchange through workshops, technical visits, and joint research projects in Marine Engineering. This collaboration will facilitate the sharing of expertise and encourage the development of innovative solutions for naval operations.

IOCL will leverage its technical expertise and advanced energy solutions to assist the Indian Navy in addressing real-world operational challenges faced by its fleet. Under the MoU, both organizations will implement collaborative training programs to improve the technical skills of personnel. These programs will focus on:
