Amidst a recent development, IPS Chandan Chowdhary and IPS Rajendra Prasad Meena were appointed as Deputy Director General in the Bureau of Civil Aviation Security (BCAS) for a period of five years, or whichever transpires earlier. The transfer was orchestrated by the Ministry of Home Affairs after the concurrence of the Ministry of Civil Aviation under which BCAS functions. Both the officers are 2010-batch AGMUT cadre IPS officers.
The BCAS holds responsibilities that include laying down standards and measures with respect to the security of civil flights at international and domestic airports in India.
