Mr. Daljit Singh Chaudhary, an IPS officer of Uttar Pradesh cadre from 1990 batch, has been given additional charge of the post of Director General (DG) at National Security Guard (NSG) as per an order issued by the Ministry of Home Affairs on 28 February, 2024. Earlier he was serving as Director General of Sashastra Seema Bal (SSB).
The National Security Guard is also known as India’s counter terrorism force and is a federal counter deployment force against the terrorism and anti-hijacking operations. During the 26/11 terror attack in Mumbai, NSG commandos played a vital role.
