Mr. H Venkatesh, a 1998-batch IPS officer currently serving as Additional Director General of Police (Crimes), has been transferred and appointed as the Additional Director General of Police (Law & Order) in Kerala. The appointment will take effect from May 1, 2025.
This development follows the promotion of Mr. Manoj Abraham (1994-batch IPS officer), who was serving as ADGP (Law & Order) and has now been elevated to the rank of Director General of Police (DGP). Mr. Abraham has been appointed as the Director General of Fire and Rescue Services, a newly created ex-cadre post, also effective from May 1.
The DGP post was vacated after Mr. K Padmakumar (1989-batch IPS officer) retired on April 30, 2025. In response, the Kerala government created the new ex-cadre position to accommodate Mr. Abraham’s elevation.
