Mr. Jagmohan Meena, a 2013-batch IPS officer, has officially assumed charge as the Deputy Commissioner of Police (DCP) of Bhubaneswar, succeeding Mr. Pinaka Mishra (2011-batch IPS officer) in a formal ceremony held on Wednesday. The transition comes as part of a broader Indian Police Service (IPS) reshuffle initiated by the Odisha government, with Mr. Mishra now appointed as the Deputy Inspector General (DIG) of the Special Task Force (STF).

Addressing the media, DCP Meena emphasized his strategic priorities for enhancing public safety in Bhubaneswar. He underscored the need for swift investigations and the timely apprehension of criminals, aiming to foster a secure environment for residents.
One of the key initiatives announced by DCP Meena includes the installation of additional CCTV cameras across the city to curb crime. He also highlighted the importance of strengthening cyber security measures, particularly to safeguard elderly citizens from digital threats.
To improve public communication and grievance redressal, DCP Meena introduced a dedicated WhatsApp helpline (87630 04117) for citizens to report suspicious activities or concerns.
Furthermore, DCP Meena reiterated his commitment to tackling crimes against women and children, reinforcing his focus on creating a safer community for all.
With these proactive measures, DCP Meena is set to lead Bhubaneswar towards a more secure and vigilant future.
