Ms. Kavita Jalan, a 2003-batch Odisha cadre IPS officer, has been appointed as Inspector General (IG) in the Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF) for a period of three years.
According to an order issued by the Ministry of Home Affairs (MHA) on March 18, 2025, the competent authority has approved her appointment on deputation basis for a tenure of three years or until June 30, 2028 (total tenure of seven years), or until further orders, whichever is earlier.
Ms. Jalan is currently serving as Deputy Director General (DDG) in the Bureau of Civil Aviation Security (BCAS). Notably, she began her central deputation tenure on November 14, 2021.
